Image of Year 4 Maths Mayhem!

Today, Year 4 swapped their classroom for the school hall as they dived into some hands-on maths learning. The focus was on place value up to 10,000 and how to partition numbers – but this wasn’t any ordinary lesson!

Before long, counters representing 1s, 10s, 100s and 1000s were scattered all across the hall floor. The children’s mission? To track down the counters they needed and quickly partition the number they were given. With lots of running, excitement, and a bit of frantic searching, the hall was soon buzzing with mathematicians building numbers big and small.

The activity was full of laughter, energy and teamwork – though the fun did take a small dip when Mr Loynds insisted the class tidy up every last counter before heading back!

Well done, Year 4 – you certainly proved that maths can be active, engaging, and full of smiles!
