Image of Christingles

This afternoon in RE, the Year 2 students had the opportunity to make Christingles, learning about the symbolism behind each part of the traditional Christmas decoration. As they carefully assembled their Christingles, they discovered that the orange represents the world, the red ribbon symbolises the blood of Christ, and the four sticks of sweets represent the four seasons. The lit candle at the top of the Christingle signifies Jesus as the light of the world. This hands-on activity helped the students not only understand the Christian significance of the Christingle, but also allowed them to reflect on the deeper meaning of Christmas and the message of hope and light it brings.
