Year 5 spent the afternoon learning all about Anglo Saxons and Vikings. They had so much fun, starting out with learning the timeline of Britain when the Anglo Saxons came to Britain and then was intimidated by the Vikings. They explored what Vikings looked like, what they acted like and how they travelled to Britain. The second session allowed the children to get hands on with Anglo Saxon life. They got the chance to write Latin words with a quill, dress up as Anglo Saxon men and women, grind corn in order to make flour, weaving a pattern for clothing and fence weaving to create structures. The children loved it!
