Image of Creating a lasting legacy with the Ribble Rivers Trust

Years Four and Five had an amazing experience today, planting a range of trees within our Forest School with help from the Ribble Rivers Trust team. We have planted silver birch, hawthorn and fruit trees around designated areas within Forest School which will frame our seated area, benefit the environment and create a lasting legacy of what the children helped to achieve as a part of our school. This is part of a funded initiative to plant more trees within our local area.

The children worked fantastically; working as groups of three to work through the process of planting the trees. It was brilliant to see. Also, the children completed fun learning activities linked to understanding why we need trees. It was very hard to throw hoops around stick trees labelled with the benefits of trees in today's wind! But we don't let a bit of wild Trawden wind stop us!

Well done everyone on your hard work. A tremendous effort all round!
