We've had a visit from Smokey!

Today, we were lucky enough to have a visit from Lancashire Fire Service and Smokey the Bear. They came to school to teach us all about fire safety and what we should do if we ever have a fire at home. They told us about different techniques to stay safe, such as 'Stop! Drop! Roll!' (this was was fun to practise), crawling around to avoid breathing in smoke and how to check if there is fire on the opposite side of a door. 

We loved watching Smokey the Bear, who told us all about a fire safety plan! He had a funny accent! 

Year 2 are now super excited about all the homework they will receive on Friday about Fire Safety at home.
