The Year Five children created some wonderful ideas, both individually and collaboratively, during today's art lesson. We studied Banksy's Clacton Pigeon Mural piece and had an amazing discussion about our views and values. We considered how to treat people and showing mutual respect for everybody. The children then individually came up with ideas as to how they would edit Banksy's work to include more positive and welcoming messages. They then collaborated with their partner to edit an actual image with their ideas. Ideas included changing the placard messages, altering the type and colours of the birds and even different animals! They had a mature, respectful conversation which resulted in some amazing art work. Well done Year 5!
