During Forest school, the children identified trees using their leaves and thought about what makes a plant a plant and also what makes a tree a plant. We discussed such things as:
why leaves are green;
veins and their importance;
photosynthesis;
why plants need a stem
We also thought about the shapes of different leaves and then created a new plant that incorporated the features of plants but with one thing that could change. We also tried to improve our Forest School area. If you want good ideas, ASK THE CHILDREN!
