This week, Year 3 created their final product for their Summer DT topic.
Throughout the Summer term, we have been exploring different mechanisms and looking at how we can use these to create our own moving posters. The aim of our posters was to inform people about the different ways we can look after our planet and the importance of recycling our rubbish, linking our DT and Geography learning.
During the design process, they experimented with different designs and created a range of mechanisms and levers, including a waving hand, two waving flags and a snapping crocodile. Then, using their research into the 3R's, they designed their very own poster and adapted one of the mechanisms to suit its aim of promoting environmental sustainability.
The children put lots of effort into creating their final product and worked hard to ensure their mechanisms moved smoothly. The final results were fantastic and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves!
