Last Friday, 8 lucky Year 5 children were selected to take part in an Orienteering Challenge organised by Pendle Schools Partnership.

Along with 3 other schools, our children went to Alkincoats Park and took part in several team building activities and were briefed on the main orienteering task.

Armed with a compass and a map of the park, children were then sent to find 20 hidden orienteering markers. Each marker had a number and a letter on it which children had to record in their own  card. Children worked in pairs to find these markers located around an area of Alkincoats.

All 8 children had a fantastic time, represented the school brilliantly and had a really fun afternoon!

Well done Year 5 for being able to apply your Orienteering Skills from Forest School sessions.
