Today’s English lesson looked a little different… and a lot cosier!
Wrapped in blankets and sipping hot chocolate, we stepped into the world of our class text Float by Daniel Miyares. To help us understand the main character’s experience, we immersed ourselves in the moment when he finally arrives home after a difficult day.
After being caught in the rain, losing his paper boat and feeling upset, the character finds comfort in getting warm with a hot chocolate. So, we did the same!
As we enjoyed our drinks, complete with whipped cream and marshmallows, we explored how it made us feel. We described the taste and smell, generated rich vocabulary and created some fantastic similes together.
