It is Poetry Week this week in school! To celebrate, Year 5 have been tasked with writing a poem linked to inventions. This links in with our topic ''Inventors and Inventions.''

On Monday, children learnt lots of tips and tricks to perform a poem effectively including using actions, facial expressions and to be confident.

Tuesday and Wednesday saw children split up into small groups and choosing 4 inventions to include in their poem. They then researched as much as they could about the invention; who invented it, where it was invented, when it was invented and how it changed the world.

Today, children have been working collaboratively in their groups once again to write their poem. It had to use rhyming couplets and include all 4 of their chosen inventions. Year 5 worked so hard on this task and we already cannot wait to hear and watch their fabulous poems be performed tomorrow in class.
