Year 3 had a fantastic time on their trip to Pendle Gymnastics Centre yesterday!
They spent the day training as gymnasts, learning new skills and strengthening their muscles.
They started the day learning how to effectively warm up and stretch their muscles, and building their strength by learning a number of gymnastics positions and balances. Then, they engaged in a wide range of very exciting gymnastics activities! They learnt how to practice handstands, how to use rings and bars, how to jump off the vaults and even how to balance on beams (and jump off them).
The children showed incredible resilience and determination as they took on new challenges and tried their best with every activity. They worked brilliantly together, encouraging and supporting each other and working well in their teams.
It was lovely to see them face their fears and jump head first (literally) into these new challenges. We were all extremely proud of them and they should be very proud of themselves too!
I'm sure there were some very sore legs this morning!
