This week, our first group of Reception children had a fantastic adventure at our village library!

We work hard throughout the year to promote a love of reading, and what better way to support the National Year of Reading 2026 than by visiting our fabulous local library?

The children explored the library and enjoyed sharing lots of different stories, before selecting a book each to take back to school. Two of the chosen books will be added to our book voting station each day, so everyone can vote for the story they would like to hear. The visit also gave our children the opportunity to learn how to use the library computer to scan their books, and back at school they loved showing their friends what they had chosen.

A huge thank you to Helen and Liz for giving us such a warm welcome, teaching us how to use the library system, and to Helen for reading some fantastic stories with the children.

We can’t wait to visit again next week for more adventures, more books, and more reading fun!
