What a fabulous day we've had in Year 3!
Today, we had a fantastic visit from 'the History Man' who took us on a journey back in time to the Stone Age. The children were fascinated to learn more about what life was like in the Stone Age and build upon the learning they are doing in History.
The class had the opportunity to build tents out of wood and fur pelt, grind wheat to make their own flour, use throwing spears to catch animals and even use different Stone tools to cut wood and investigate which tools were the best at getting the job done. Finally, they had to step into the role of a hunter-gatherer and work out how to make their own clothes using fur pelt, thinking about which piece would be best to use to keep them warm. They created some very unique outfits!
The children threw themselves into every activity, working well as a team and asking fascinating questions, and they can't wait to continue learning more about life in the Stone Age in our History lessons.
