Yesterday, with autumn settling in, and a frosty, chilly start to the day — it was the perfect time for another group of our Year 5 Garden Gang children to spend the afternoon in the school garden. They harvested fresh carrots before preparing and cooking a delicious carrot and coriander soup outdoors.

The children washed, peeled, and cut the carrots into slices. To give the soup its finishing touch, homegrown coriander, sown from seed earlier this year was chopped and added.

From garden to bowl in the same afternoon, the soup was enjoyed in the autumn sunshine — a great way to round off the day.
