Last week, some of our Year 6 Garden Gang swapped their trowels for wooden spoons as they joined Mrs Nelson to cook with produce grown on our school field. Using apples they had already harvested, the children set about making apple crumble.

Following a recipe, they carefully measured the ingredients, peeled and chopped the apples into chunks, and worked together every step of the way to create a fabulous crumble. The delicious aroma soon filled the dining room — and even Mr Frankland tried to sneak in for a bowl! Can you spot him?

The children did a fantastic job, turning their harvest into a delicious dessert. And what better way to mark Interational Eat an Apple Day, which took place on Saturday, than by celebrating with apple crumble and ice cream!
