Image of Year 6 Scientists Get Circulating!

This afternoon, our brilliant Year 6 scientists explored the vital role of blood in the circulatory system! Working collaboratively, they created an interactive model to represent the main components of blood.

Red blood cells – represented by food-coloured hooped cereal, carrying oxygen around the body.
Plasma – a yellow-tinted water mixture, transporting nutrients and waste.
White blood cells – fluffy marshmallows, standing strong to fight infection.
Platelets – pom-poms, essential for clotting and healing.

Using a plastic bottle as an artery, they brought their learning to life in a fun and engaging way. Despite the complexity of the topic, our Year 6s confidently explained how each component plays a crucial role in keeping us healthy!
