Image of Year 6 create a community allotment and wild flower meadow

Our Year 6, being the inspired young people they are, raised money before Christmas in a bid to raise sufficient funds to landscape the area behind Trawden Shop into a wild flower meadow and some raised beds. With the lifting of some frosts last week, the children went to start the ground preparation and planting. They worked as a team to plant potatoes, onion sets, cabbages, beans and rhubarb- to name but a few. The Year 6 Team will be returning to the plot in weeks to come to plants the wild flower seeds in addition to more vegetables and herbs. Many of the children are visiting the plot during the week / weekend to look after it: what an amazing team they are!
