Today, Year 2 had one of their most exciting and dangerous Forest School lessons so far! They had the opportunity to use knives to remove the bark from branches.
Before the lesson began, children had a detailed safety discussion about how to use the knives in a safe and proper manner. They listened extremely well and followed all instructions given throughout the activity.
Children were given the option to join in this task if they felt comfortable and those that did, really enjoyed it! As we only completed the whittling task in small groups, the remainder of the class worked together to make 'Mud Stew', which was inspired by the class book, 'Whiffy Wilson'.
I am very proud of all the children who took park in these activities! Take a look at the photos below!
