What a busy and exciting couple of weeks we have had in EYFS! The children have been having lots of fun exploring autumn and enjoying a range of exciting activities.

We have been busy investigating all things autumn, exploring natural treasures such as colourful leaves, conkers and twigs. One of our favourite activities was discovering autumn treasures trapped inside blocks of ice! The children loved exploring the ice, watching it melt and finding ways to rescue the hidden objects.

In maths, we have been learning all about sorting and comparing. The children have enjoyed sorting different objects, spotting similarities and differences and talking about what they notice.

Our creative areas have been buzzing with activity! After sharing the story It's Not a Box, the children let their imaginations run wild, turning boxes and other materials into all sorts of wonderful creations. We have also been developing our mark-making skills in lots of different ways.

In phonics, we have been working hard learning new letters and sounds through Bug Club Phonics. The children particularly enjoyed using water to practise writing the sounds we have learnt. We have also been practising our blending skills and are becoming more confident at putting sounds together to read words such as sat, pat and tap. We are so proud of their fantastic efforts!

It has been a wonderful couple of weeks filled with curiosity, creativity and lots of lovely learning.
