Year 1 enjoyed another amazing visit by the History man today, this time to talk about toys.
We made a timeline in class and then he showed us a range of toys from the past for us to sort. We sorted toys, transport, animals and spinning toys.
We could tell how old they were by the materials they were made from, the amount of detail and how colourful they were. We managed to work most of them out except for some of the toys from Ancient Egypt that were quite sophisticated even though they were 5000 years old!
Afterwards we enjoyed playing with and exploring the toys. Lots of children liked the wind up train set, some preferred the more modern toys and surprisingly, many children said their favourite was a snapping tiger from Egypt!
