Our EYFS children have been having the best time exploring, learning, and growing during our Forest School sessions! A massive highlight has been learning how to make fire. The children showed incredible perseverance while using real flint and steels to spark and light pieces of cotton wool. It takes a lot of practice, and their resilience shone through as they kept trying until they saw that magical little flame!

Our little adventurers have also been testing their physical skills by climbing trees, learning how to manage risks safely, and finding out just how strong they are. Back on the ground, we have been sharpening our eyes by searching for different colours in nature, matching leaves,  flowers and other natural objects to different colours.

Some children have also discovered there are some interesting things that you can do with a stick! Our children have used them as a broomstick, a swishy tail and a tickling stick. It is wonderful to see their imaginations run wild while they become such independent, confident learners.
