Today, Year 4 began their exciting new English unit on Holiday Brochures with a very special start to the topic. Rather than simply learning about brochures, the class set off on an imaginative journey to Sicily!

The adventure began in the school hall where the children created their own passports, complete with their photos. Once their passports were ready, they collected their boarding passes and joined the long queue for airport security. Our brilliant security staff carefully checked everyone with metal detectors to make sure no hidden items were travelling with us.

After visiting the check in desk to find out their seat numbers, the children were ready to board their flight. On board, they listened carefully to the safety demonstration and learned where the emergency exits were located. Safety always comes first.

As the flight travelled over the beautiful island of Sicily, the children learned about the sights, places and experiences they might discover there. All of this will help them as they begin writing their own holiday brochures tomorrow.

We are looking forward to seeing Year 4 bring Sicily to life through their writing over the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.
