Year 6 pupils wowed staff today with their fantastic DT investigations into designing and building fairground rides, showcasing creativity, problem-solving and teamwork. Through hands-on experimentation, they have begun to discover innovative ways of attaching and constructing key components. The children have also begun to explore clever methods to control movement, considering ways of adapting their mechanisms to make the rides move more slowly and safely, just like real fairground attractions. The result was a collection of amazing ideas that impressed everyone, demonstrating both imaginative design and thoughtful engineering in action. Next, they need to complete their investigations by testing different joining techniques to improve strength and stability.
