Year 1 have been learning all about materials. This week we talked about the properties of certain materials and why objects would be made out of them.
Working in groups the children sorted objects into sets according to their properties. Some objects displayed both properties, e.g. one part was smooth but another was rough.
We discussed what materials the objects in each group were made out of and the children explained what they had learned to the other groups.
