Year 3 showed off their incredible baking skills during our DT lessons this week where they made their very own bread from scratch!

Throughout our DT lessons this term we have been exploring healthy sandwiches with the aim of creating a new, interesting sandwich for Paddington as he only ever eats marmalade ones! The children came up with some fantastic (and unusual) ideas that they were able to make themselves this week.

The children had to work in teams to measure their ingredients and follow the steps of a recipe to make sure they added and mixed the right ingredients at the right time, which they all did exceptionally well. They loved getting their hands dirty kneading the dough and couldn't wait to see how their bread turned out. As you can see from the photos, their bread came out perfectly!

Then, the children got to use their bread to make their very own sandwiches, bringing their wonderful designs to life. The sandwiches they made looked incredible and according to the class... they tasted pretty good too!

They were extremely proud of their creations and couldn't wait to take some of their bread home for their families to try... We hope you enjoyed it!
