This week, another group of Year 1 Garden Gang children had a busy and exciting time discovering what happens in our school garden.
They spotted lots of ladybirds resting on the petunias, explored the bug hotel, and even watched a huge spider disappear inside it!
The children looked at the vegetables growing, discovered what happens in the potting shed, and checked on the corn that’s drying — we can’t wait to make popcorn soon. They also learnt what happens to our fruit and vegetable snack waste from breaktimes, before checking in on our tiger worms, who are busy making compost in the wormery.
They also learnt how we measure rainfall in the garden and had a go at reading just how much rain had fallen over the past week.
What a fantastic afternoon of learning, exploring, and harvesting for our Garden Gang children!
