This week is National Insect Week, which is aimed at highlighting our incredible insects that play a vital role in our ecosystems. From pollination to pest control, these tiny creatures are big heroes in our natural world!

To mark the occasion, our school Gardening Club have been busy working on creating our very own Moon Garden!

Moon Gardens are designed to attract night-time pollinators, like moths and beetles, who often get overlooked. With this in mind, we have chosen and grown a beautiful selection of white and pale-coloured flowers, silver and variegated foliage, and wonderfully scented plants that come to life as the sun goes down.

As the moon rises, our Moon Garden will glow softly and attract those important nocturnal insects, helping to boost the biodiversity in the school garden.

We’re so proud of our young gardeners for thinking beyond the daylight and creating a space where even the night-time insects can thrive!
