We were delighted to welcome Jess Staton into school for our Arts week. She kicked off the week with an enthralling assembly about puppets and how they are used in theatre and introduced us to some of her fabulous creations. The younger children loved her baby elephant and the way the owl was designed to open its wings and move was amazing!
Then each class enjoyed a workshop where the children created something themselves. EYFS made some wriggly, jiggly snakes, Y1, Y2 and Y3 made foil and tissue birds and Y4 made some fabulous flapping bats. Y5 and Y6 used Shakespeare as their inspiration to design some sets for staging his plays.
We loved having Jess in school and she is definitely an inspiration to all our creative children.
