Last week was all about teamwork, creativity and new friendships as we welcomed Years 3 and 4 from Marsden Community Primary School to join our own Year 3 and 4 pupils for a fun-filled day of collaboration and connection!
Working in mixed-school teams, the children took part in four exciting carousel activities that encouraged them to get to know one another and work as a team:
Task 1 – Friendship Bracelets
Children paired up with a partner from the other school and created bracelets based on their new friend's favourite colours and styles. A lovely way to break the ice and share a smile!
Task 2 – Portrait Painting
With watercolours in hand, children got artistic as they painted portraits of their partners. Lots of concentration, giggles, and some very creative masterpieces were made!
Task 3 – Badminton Buddies
In the hall, children teamed up to practise their badminton skills, encouraging each other and learning to work together through movement and play.
Task 4 – Forest School Fun
Our children proudly gave Marsden a tour of our Forest School area before teaming up to build dens using tarps and natural materials. The big test? Hiding under their creations as water was poured over them to simulate a storm! Luckily, many stayed dry – and all had fun! The session wrapped up with tidying, teamwork and reflections on the experience.
There was so much laughter, creativity and friendship-building throughout the day. It was wonderful to see the children working together, sharing ideas, and most importantly – having a great time!
A huge thank you to Marsden Community Primary for visiting – we loved having you!
