This week, Year 5 brought ancient myths to life through a series of powerful and dramatic performances. Pupils stepped into the sandals of gods, heroes, and magical creatures as they acted out three legendary tales:
-
The Golden Apple – where jealousy between goddesses sparked a decision that led to war
-
Thunderbolt Trouble – where a stolen bolt caused chaos on Mount Olympus
-
The Serpent’s Secret – where bravery and respect helped restore balance to nature
With dramatic dialogue, expressive movement, and fantastic homemade props, our young performers captivated their audience and explored important themes like pride, power, respect for nature, and the consequences of our actions.
The performances not only showcased their acting skills but also deepened their understanding of mythical structure, character, and moral storytelling — key parts of their current English unit on myths and legends.
