Image of New Term, New Growth - Gardening Club Returns!

We were so excited to welcome everyone back to Gardening Club after the Easter holidays – and what better way to start than with a walk around the garden to take in all the amazing changes!

We checked in on our seedlings, as well as the peas, beans, and beetroot that have been planted out into the raised beds – they’re growing beautifully!

The children shared their brilliant ideas for a Garden Design Competition. Our Head Gardener is going to combine all the suggestions into one exciting new garden plan. We can’t wait to see it come to life!

We also made our very own cress pot men which are now tucked away in the polytunnel. We’re looking forward to watching their cress hair grow – they’re going to look fabulous!

We have been very busy preparing our brand-new raised planters. The children showed incredible teamwork as they filled them using a Hugelkultur-inspired method – layering logs and decaying wood to create a sustainable, nutrient-rich base. This centuries-old gardening technique is great for the environment and perfect for supporting healthy plant growth.

What a fantastic start to the term – we’re already looking forward to next week!
