
Harvest Time and Pizza Time!
This week we made delicious homemade pizzas in the garden using our pizza oven! With the garlic we harvested a couple of weeks ago, we made garlic pizzas before creating our own pizzas with a selection of fresh toppings. They were an absolute hit!
Whilst the pizzas were cooking, there was still plenty of gardening to do. We harvested one of our raised beds of broad beans, dug up more tubs of potatoes (we’re having an incredible bumper crop this year!), and picked sweet orange cherry tomatoes, crisp cucumbers and our very unusual Dragon’s Egg cucumber.
The freshly harvested tomatoes and cucumbers were then prepared into a delicious salad to enjoy alongside our homemade pizzas – it doesn’t get much fresher than that!
From growing and harvesting to preparing and cooking, we experienced the complete ‘plot to plate’ journey. It was wonderful to enjoy food we had grown ourselves and take such pride in every stage of the process.
