What a busy day Year 1 have had being scientists!

We went to Eureka Children's Science Museum to do some investigating to support our current science topic of Humans.

First we explored the digital world in the Sparks gallery - the perfect way to loosen up after our journey, before moving on to SoundSpace where we investigated how to make and alter sounds and how we hear them.  There was also a booth where you can experiment with light effects and it had a mixing desk.  I think we have some budding DJs in the class.

In the All about Me gallery we had lots of opportunities to learn about our bodies and how they work in a fun, interactive way.  Lots of children loved playing at dentists, whilst others were intrigued to see a 'baby' inside it's mum with a scanner.  We did a good job of choosing healthy foods and found a new friend in Zoom the robot.

We also had chance to play in the role play areas - fixing cars, making lunch, shopping, working in a post office and digging up the road.  Some children even tried printing their own money and getting into the vault in the bank before Harry the policeman turned up to stop them!

The Grosslab did what it said on the tin.  We learned all about snot and sick and some children helped out making poo and becoming a scab!

What a very busy, very fun day we have had!
