Another group of our enthusiastic Year 5 Gardening Gang rolled up their sleeves in the school garden this week. They began by harvesting carrots we had grown from seed — including a striking yellow variety that proved carrots come in more than just orange! The colourful crop caused plenty of excitement and curiosity as the children compared shapes and shades.
Once gathered, the carrots were washed, peeled, and chopped, before being transformed into a warming carrot and coriander soup cooked outdoors. The children loved seeing how their hard work in the garden could be turned into something delicious to share and enjoy together.
