We had a fabulous time in English today, kicking off our 'Creepy Critters' poetry unit. The children completed charades and Pictionary to guess the critter, followed by a quiz, a hunt through 'The Wormery' for golden stars - making sure they avoided the hidden insects. Finally they were tempted by 'Grasshopper Slushy'. I was really impressed as quite a few children dared to try it! The children used lots of fantastic vocabulary describing the insects and were wowed with some of the facts they found out to be true. We can't wait to carry out some research on some of these creatures to use in our poetry performances next week!
