We are excited to be participating in the ‘Grow Your Own Potatoes’ (GYOP) project, which teaches our children how their food is grown. This hands-on initiative allows them to be involved in every stage—from growing and nurturing to harvesting and enjoying their very own crops. And yes, we’re hoping to turn our potatoes into delicious chips!
A big shoutout to our Reception Class for preparing the seed potatoes for sprouting last month. This time, Year 4 teamed up with the Gardening Club to plant them, and they did an amazing job! We can’t wait to see how many tasty potatoes we’ll harvest!
In addition, with some help from Year 1, we're conducting a fun ‘Below the Soil’ experiment. We’re growing a seed potato in a clear plastic container to observe how the roots develop and how the potato grows.
A huge thank you to Grow Your Own Potatoes and Potato House for supplying us with these wonderful potatoes. Stay tuned for updates as we watch our potato journey.
