Year 1 had a fantastic trip to the Keighley and Worth Valley railway.

We learned about seaside holidays in Victorian times and compared them to activities we do now.  We looked at the kind of luggage people would take and the clothing they would wear on the beach.  We tried out different carriages to see which was most comfortable - everyone agreed they would like to travel in first class most, especially when we heard what people might have done if they needed the toilet on a long journey!

It was very exciting travelling on a steam train and we got to watch the engine uncouple and move to the other end of the train for the trip back.  We saw lots of things from the past, including Victorian toys and even got to go on the footplate of one of the engines.

Everyone had a great day and there were some sleepy children on the coach back to school!

We were complimented on our enthusiasm, behaviour and manners
