Our curious Year 4 students have been delving into the fascinating world of States of Matter in Science! They've been exploring the characteristics of solids, liquids, and gases, and things got absolutely popping in the classroom!
They were given three balloons to examine — one filled with air, one filled with water, and the final balloon full of ice! As they observed, they eagerly anticipated the surprising reactions when those balloons went pop!
When the air-filled balloon burst, the children were intrigued to see the gas escape and disperse into the room. But things got even more exciting when the water-filled balloons exploded, drenching some of our brave scientists! (Don't worry, everyone had a good laugh afterwards, and no uniforms were harmed in the process!)
Through their diligent investigations, our students were able to explain how each substance's shape changed as it was no longer confined within the balloon. They truly grasped how solids, liquids, and gases behaved differently!
