Today, we wanted to share an exciting update about our Year 4 students' latest adventure in the world of science. They've been exploring the fascinating concept of sound and how it travels to our ears!
During their class today, the students got hands-on with a super cool investigation. They discovered that sound travels through vibration in the air.
To see this phenomenon in action, they designed an awesome experiment called "String Phones." By connecting two paper cups with a piece of string and speaking into one cup, they could hear the sound vibrating through the string and reaching their friend's ear on the other end!
It was mind-blowing to witness the students' amazement as they experienced this firsthand. And that's not all, they also learned about how different materials affect the sound vibrations and why some materials, like a taut string, make a better string phone!
These interactive activities not only nurtured their scientific curiosity but also enhanced their understanding of how sound is transmitted. Plus, it was an absolute joy to see them actively engage with the topic.
